Small Photograph - Trying to Identify Artist

Here's a small 4" X 8" black and white photograph. It has a signature lower right, along with the letters EA (which I understand to mean "Epreuve d'artist"). These appear to be signed on this print, not in the negative.

The scene appears to be located in Montreal, with the Hotel Nelson in the background and two horse and carriage in the foreground.

Despite the horse and carriage, I believe it is a contemporary photograph, since I believe I see a modern vehicle in the background. (The one way sign near the centre of the photo gives it away too I think).

Has anyone seen the signature of this artist? There is some letters written on the back as well which you can see in one of the photos attached.

 

yup , it's Old Montreal, with Caleche in the foreground...
that truck?, looks vintage at best....

can you get a close up of the truck........may help dating...somewhat??

 

city hall in the background...street signs.....all play a prt in dating this.....
I'm still not confident in doing so ........... at the moment..

 

Here's an enlargement of the area around the truck, which includes some people and a no parking sign.

 

looks like an older armoured car...maybe Loomis....... 1980's...maybe 90's..?

 

I agree it looks like an armored car. 1980s-1990s is a good guess.

I've tried to decipher the writing on the back. Maybe VOGD? Google search brings up people with that surname, but I can't find anyone with that name with photos online that are similar to mine, or signatures/monograms similar to what is on the photo.

 

The clothing of the people looks 1990s, imo.

 

The vignetting makes the photograph look older than it is. Mustn't be an uncommon subject. And same thing here; the tinting makes the photograph look old tyme-y.

one of the most photographed places in Montreal.... ever since camera's were invented.......
