Set of 8 Mexican? Silver? Buttons: Common Screw-Head

These appear to have been made by, perhaps, a student. Their thickness is not uniform, nor is the placement if the attachment ring in relation to the simple pattern. In addition, not a single one of the marks resolves itself under a 10X triplet...I simply cannot be completely confident about either word; but I think it says MEXICO SILVER. Maybe 'cause I want it to?
Orientation is correct in pic 2...I think. They weigh .825 ozt, together. Any confirmation...or refutation, for that matter...gratefully received, along with your other comments...Thanks for lookin'!

@wlwhittier, I took the button I thought I could read the best, then did some enlarging and sharpening....TO ME (IMHO...) I don't see them saying 'Mexico Silver', but that's just ME.......could they be pewter buttons OR another Language written in??

Color in my pics is poor...I'm pretty sure they're silver, of some alloy.
The language is a real question. though. You've zoomed on one of the (I think) inverted...I get an only slightly better view with the ones having the words beneath the loop. Thanks, Aquitaine!
