Featured Metal and leather brooch

I picked this brooch up simply because as soon as i saw it i have a memory of my mother having one just like it when i was a kid but cant be sure


Would love to know if anyone have any knowledge of this type of brooch?
The back i think is leather with also leather and metal on the front.its approx 1 and half inches at widest point.

It is a dress clip, an older brooch-like jewel. Dress clips were clipped onto the edge of a fabric, along the neckline for instance.

 

Also possible it's a shoe clip. Definitely not a regular brooch as AJ said. If it's a shoe clip, it would have been one in a pair.

Definitely a shoe clip. I’ve still got shoes I bought in the seventies which had removable matching clips.

 

Shoe clip here too; dress clips had longer tongue/back pieces and they had prongs on the back. This is a baby.

Thank you everyone.closest thing to a shoe clip i have come across before is the little rubber thingies that my kids stick into the holes in their Crocks these days.little spunge bobs,michael Jordan jersies and have seen bart simpsons head i think too.

You can tell your kids it's a vintage Croc ornament from back when shoes were made of leather.
