    Nice haul. Those artisan pins were worth the price of admission for sure!

    The amber is beautiful ... may I ask how you know it's real? I have two strands that were in a vintage jewelry box I won at auction that look real. I've sold quite a few things out of that box, but not the amber, because I don't know if it's real. I've been afraid to try some of the tests suggested and doubtful about the accuracy.

    I love that Humpty Dumpty! Adorable.

    Humpty Dumpty alas is missing his hat; I found the glue mark later on. (sigh)

    The easiest test, that doesn't always work but at least isn't destructive, is a blacklight. Amber reacts but most plastics don't. A lot of composite amber doesn't either, or only partially does. You can also show it to this scurvy lot; an experienced jewelry junkie can often eyeball it.

    Thanks. I don't have a blacklight - does that make the beads glow as in uranium art glass? I'll take some photos, but first need to read up on the best way to post photos here, which I've not done yet.

    Maybe a replacement glass hat for Humpty:

    Pretty much. Some amber reacts. It's not as bright as uranium glass, but it reacts.

    I think you could fit the entire collection into that hat. (LOL)

    Unfortunately, I can't post photos or start my own thread. When I signed up, I never received an email confirmation.

    Get yourself a cheap UV torch on eBay. Invaluable. And yes, we can spot Amber.

    I should have, but I didn't - I've been back and forth with the moderator concerning this issue and I'm sol. I wanted to close my account and start fresh with a different email, but was told if I did that I wouldn't be allowed back on. I just haven't done it because I assume I'll lose my watched threads and posts. etc. I will ... just hate having to start from scratch.

    I swear Ive got a pin like the purple flower one somewhere. Or maybe I gave it in a Christmas exchange.Picked these up today.$1 each and I remember when they were very desirable. I see high asking prices but no solds.

    You are very welcome!!! :happy::happy::kiss:

    Not many people know that they come in different sizes. I only knew about the sizes because I found this website some years ago when I had bought several & was looking for IDs of the patterns. :D:D

I don’t really buy jewellery but I thought this was pretty and I found the engraving interesting. I was wondering if the engraving has any significance? Or what is it? Not a crest,but may an Initial (a ‘D’if you turn it sideways?) Or it almost looks unfinished to me. Please tell me what you think. Thanks

    I do think it a letter. Not sure it is a D.
