Featured Glass Etched Apothecary Jar

Found one of these, looks just like this one. Any idea who made it and what era? Thanks in advance.

 

@Happy! - What are the measurements?

This style of candy jar was made by just about every glass maker in America. This one looks to be Cambridge No. 96 1/2 lb. jar. I don't know if they did the pattern which I believe may be cut rather than etched.

The jar is shown on page 244 of Fifty Years of Collectable Glass 1920 - 1970 by Tom & Neila Bredehoft. ( our very own @Cherryhill)

He lists the measurements as 8 3/4" tall, 3 3/4" wide, & 3 1/4 across foot.

Thanks Peggy! That's it--correct measurements, and yes, it is cut, not etched. Saw Cambridge closed around 1958, so before that sometime. Not much value given to these, these days. If I kept it, I would be too tempted to fill it with a half a pound of candy, which would be emptied in no time at all.

 

You could use it at Christmastime filled with assorted colored mini ball-shaped ornaments.

 

Cute idea. OR, maybe "colored mini"--M&Ms!
