    Hello!

New here and would appreciate your help identifying this mark. I remember seeing it many years ago but cannot recall. Seems I remember seeing the exact same sun in a Royal Worcester mark some time ago but cannot find it in any of my books. Thanks for taking a peek!

    Welcome to antiquers!
I think it's probably the Japanese rising sun.
Would you show us a picture of the entire vase also, please?

Here it is. I thought Nippon style too, but then I saw the Royal Worcester. However, this is a tapestry vase and I'm not sure they made those.

I found the listing on Ebay I was referring to with the "Worcester" mark with the exact same sun.

And it's got a Germany donut mark, too. German it must be then.

The closest I can find in German porcelain marks with a rising sun is Gebruder Heubach. Don't know if this is on the right track or not.

Thank you. Doesn't feel quite right though. The sun is so different. Perplexing :(

I think Worcester is a pattern name. It looks very much in Worcester style early 20th c

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Found through Google Lens...Here is something for sale on eBay, same picture on the vase:

Does yours have the same design as this one does, all the way around? @Brenda M

It has several numbers impressed into the bottom, as yours does. It looks like yours had a label covering the numbers at one time. The numbers are not the same digits as on yours, but similar. There was also something painted on the bottom of that one, but it is almost completely worn away. Whether there was a rising sun there, I don't know.

Do you reckon that this vase is made in the German/Bohemian/Austrian area? I thought that mark was Japanese, but the numbers and the way the base is made makes me think not. I'm puzzled.

Could one of the moderators please change @Brenda M 's pictures to full size in the three posts she made at the beginning of the thread?

Found these on the interwebs last night. No info to go with them though. Those three black lines mean something.

And another Heubach Brothers mark with a sunburst, plus the word Royal with Light Aurora.
The mark is so close, I suspect, I speculate they are related.

Wow! I cannot believe you found the same mark, and on a tapestry vase as well. I cannot believe I can't find this in one of my books. Thank you so much:happy:

Shown "Royal" mark is a dedicated export mark of the Gebrüder Heubach AG (Lichte, Thuringia). This version is relatively hard to find, far more often one stumbles across "Iris"; far rarer is "Preciosa". They were all used roughly between 1905 and 1920.
