It's fun,I've had it since who knows & never Googled it .I posted it on a 'fan holder' discussion & AJ identified it (because she collects fans too:woot: !).

As far as I know, none of my stuff has any representation in a museum.
These are two of maybe a dozen Asian fans in my collection. Both are Japanese, I believe. The orange one is large, 20" long by 13 1/2" wide; the other is perhaps 2/3 as big. The orange one is lacquered, the other is cut paper (identical on both sides, both of 'em).
An' that's all I know about them...

Have a bit newer version of the first fan. Could not sell it for even $4.00. :(

I haven't tried to sell any of mine yet, tho' it's not out of the question. So very many of my 'treasures' are of little appeal to others...an' it really shows, for instance, on eBay. My tastes, past an' present, aren't widely shared.

Always nice to find extra information, bosko.:)
Some of your stuff probably does. Museums don't just exhibit the rare and valuable, they also show representative items of a culture or period. Those can be pretty mundane.
Not saying your collection is mundane, of course.:playful: You have shown us some real beauties.
Nearly all Chinese, Japanese, and Korean fans post-1910 or so are mass produced, so there are many like them. They are useful and often pretty, but not collectible. And for use people prefer folding fans that fit in a handbag.

Would think they have some decorative value. This is an attractive fan that would look great displayed in a lot of ways. I don't generally buy fans but was intrigued by this fans striking appearace. Apparently, I am in the minority.

They do, but I think the problem is that there are so many out there.

Internet price searches can sometimes be worthless,ie: 1stDibs vs Ebay.If something goes for big money on Ebay I'm intrigued, many other retail venues not.
