My god,Im crying ! Yall are the absolute best ! Thank everyone SO much ! I was just kvetching how sick I was of thrifting,etc,etc and then this falls into my hands ! Keep the dream alive folks,there are still pretties out there .I want to polish it so badly but am terrified I'll mess it up ! What say you ?

Johnny...that's how they get us! Weeks of trash and then a single amazing thing and now you gotta get those hits again! I had a good Sat too (but not AS good! ) and I told my husband, "Great, now I feel like I HAVE to go back tomorrow because there will be MORE and it's a LIE." We stayed in. Gotta let these amazing finds BREATHE and be appreciated!

I'll be honest I wouldn't be able to stand it and I'd probably polish it going from gentle-ist way on up. It's gonna have that stubborn ooooold tarnish that clings until it's hit with Blitz I bet, though. Definitely get Cheryl's expertise on that!

 

Not a problem! I should have posted that image sooner...I usually have to zoom and enhance on marks and signatures so the digital art apps are the best cheat. Marks are so fussy.

So where did you find it exactly? In a pile of flatware or sitting there on a shelf just waiting for you?

It was inside an Oneida silver plated sugar bowl with a lid and the handle was sticking out .they had it almost mummified in plastic wrap .I could only really see the tip of it,but that was enough to set my spidey senses tingling ! For $3 how wrong could I go ?
