This was gifted to me years ago. It still works, and I absolutely love it! The only marking I see is FRANCE on the bottom. It looks art nouveau to me, but I could be wrong.

The switch inna cord supports 50s-60s, I think.

The workmanship in the Maison Jansen originals is nuts.Love to find a garage full of these (but have eye protection when dusting them).

    What a fabulous lamp!

Assuming the cord wasn't replaced, the plug end sometimes can give clues to date.

Agreed this looks more mid-century revival to me, even without the mid-century cord. I also agree that uniform bulbs would be best, and globe shape more fitting imo.

I think traditionally they held something like this but doubt enough space for globe-shaped. Don't mind the candle-shaped but should all be frosted. The clear glass is distracting. Might also be fun to try tubular.

You could certainly fool around with different bulbs. I have a lamp that takes similar bulbs and we put a green and red one in when we host a Christmas party!

Yeah the little ones were what I meant. I have them in some lamps of mine.

Ah. That's an interesting option too then. No, more than interesting. A better solution -- the bulbs tucked within the foliage rather than extending beyond it. Less distracting to the overall design.

Yes, I think that was possibly the original intent so the lamp is the focus and the bulbs are acting like the pistil in shape.

(And probably truer to the designers original conception.)
