Oh lovely to know its actually something! I thought it was a rather odd design for something not very useful haha, nice to know stems from tradition. Thanks Debora!

Not very useful? In it's time, the botijo was the equivalent of this!

You guys rock with your glassware/pottery/ceramic finds. I love the dancing nymphs vase.

No I mean my piece. Its teeninsy so not much you could hold in it, and only a pouring spout!

Ah. Thank you for clarifying. It's quite attractive pottery and I was unfamiliar with the artist.

I found this website from 2006 that has some information and a small catalogue of his work, as well as others in the area. If you don't speak french you can run it through google translate.

Here's a wikipedia page on the ceramics of the region, I didn't realize the Ricard products were from this area! You see them everywhere here.

I’m not very familiar with D&E Juliana but this find from the Charity shop yesterday is looking to be good for it.

Found this on eBay for $23 including shipping. The seller thought it was plastic. Lovely hardstone cameo. There was a pinstem on the back, but it was removed at some point. It is missing a pearl and has a few little nibbles, but it is still beautiful and delicate. I gave it to my daughter and she was delighted.

Those are lovely! I especially like the turquoise pieces, as that is my favorite color. Great finds.

The poor cameo seller. Imagine going through life and not recognizing beauty when you see it.

That Hopi sculpture is excellent. What a find. My sister collects Hopi jewelry and carvings. She would drool over that one.

Found these guys at an estate sale this morning. Apparently, I'm the only one in my family who thinks they're cool...
