Featured Jewelies...am I old or newish?

Hi all. Picked this hatpin(?) up because like a magpie,the sparkle appealed . Its 5 1/2 inches long,no marks. Is it a hobbyist piece ? Any input is always appreciated.

Fair enough,but I didnt think hat pins would still be used ?

 

If the 5 1/2 inches is the whole length I suspect it's a lapel type pin and not long enough for a hat pin.

 

Do those stones look like glass or diamonds?

Not a hat pin, it was never intended to be used... Only beads put together on a shaft, intended for deco only when you make a bunch and display them.

Those are glass. You can buy those roundels ready made in beading stores. It is a hobbyist piece.

 

Thanks all. I didnt pay much (of course!) so Im not terribly disappointed.

 

It's pretty, and looks like fun for decoration. I like the idea of a flashy lapel pin!
