1922 Walton Adams & Son photograph. I can´t figure out what the name is on the back. To me it looks like Bornbal/Barnbal/Rambal/Rombal ...

How do you know it dates to 1922? Is that a 22 after Reading?

Could/would you post another photograph of the handwritten notation on the back, giving it a bit more air? The cropping is distracting.

    It's indeed a 22 after Reading.

and now ...I go to bed :)

Reading is in England. Studio registered under that name in 1919 which supports 1922 date.

He retired in .... 1922. So this could have been made while he was still working there, or shortly after he retired (and the company was continued by his son Marcus).

Lovely piece & he photo'ed Queen Victoria !
PS-Never noticed how much she reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock in her later years ?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I keep seeing Barb S or Baris S (or Boris S)-- Neither one fits all of the lines that are there, so must be something completely different.

    Lovely portrait.

Until your mention, neither did I, Bosko...but now I wonder how something so obvious in retrospect could have escaped me for so long. Probably has a lot to do with Hitchcock's iconic profile, an' Victoria's in her dotage. Thanks...

Could her name be Bambi ? Not sure that name was even in existence in 1922?
    She's very beautiful.

I was thinking the same thing (but spelled as Barbie)(the name seems to have been in existence, as I found a site mentioning a Bambie Herrington, born in 1922)
