Recently got a few more pieces of Roseville Pottery at an estate auction. Haven't purchased much art pottery recently but this auction had some of the harder to find patterns like Roseville Moss.

Hmmmm..... my bowl isn't that large. Only 6" at the widest point. I also found this Whiting sterling based creamer that seems to match. It was at the same thrift a few days apart. I seem to recall a sugar bowl like this I bought a long time ago.

Yea, I looked it up last night, it's very desirable! I have a customer who buys a lot of pottery from me, especially McCoy, I will offer it to her :)

Some more things to show. Mostly from the past couple weeks.

This is an L. E. Smith dancing Nymphs vase. Bought for $2.00.

This is the large sized Fiestaware pitcher. For some reason, this was only $3.00. Usually priced much higher.

I bought 5 of these heavy melamine glasses. I am thinking MCM but can't find much about them or the company (Taide). Believe to be Japanese. 25 cents each.

Bought 12 of these apertif/cordial crystal stems. Orrefors Coronation? Also 25 cents each.

This is a Royal Haeger MCM vase. $2.00.
    thriftpot13.jpg

I try to buy these glass stoppered jars when cheap enough. For some reason, these were both $3.00. There were 2 others that were priced quite a bit higher that I did not buy.

This small sterling basket with a cranberry glass insert was only $2.00. Silver weight is 101 grams. It was retailed by Memod Jaccard and Co. in St. Louis. I will post it in the silver forum for a complete ID.

Lastly, this is a woven pine needle tray with a repousse copper insert. I actually bought this a long time ago from a local antique shop. Just ran across it while packing some things. Paid $20.00. Has a hole at the top where it apparently was nailed to a wall, as well as some general wear. Just too killer to pass up. I assume it was done by a hobbyist but would appreciate any other thoughts.

The 'Flair' line was produced by the Brooklyn-based Sheffield Silver Co., your size bowl would have likely been intended for mayonnaise, a sterling spoon or ladle may have been included...

Love me some Roseville, Moss! IMHO, one of the best Roseville floral patterns.

Forgot to post a couple more things yesterday.

Sterling clip earrings are from Thailand. Little sterling fork is S. Kirk & Son. Only 4" long and as '52 engraved on the front. Purpose? $3.00 on the earrings and 25 cents on the fork.

The bakelite knobs were actualy feet on a 40s chrome dish that was rusted trash. Will make great cabinet knobs. Bought for $3.00. Thought the bangle to be bakelite but am seeing similar sold as just plastic. Only $1.00 so no biggie.

Seconded. That pretty bangle was worn in multiples. I'd have doubedted bakelite, but I'd wear it. THe texture looks about right but the color is wrong.

Picked up my Alpho pitcher from the depot and hit the charity shop. Two Alphos in one day! The pitcher is the first of my collection that is actually useful. 11.50pp for that and 1.50 for the little one.

Also found this egg cup that I thought was just a hoot (or a cluck!), I grabbed it because it looks like a factory mark? I think it says Pezenas, which is a town down south. Not sure if its an old factory or a collective of local potters...

This is not my find, but I consider it a score! find. Someone in West Virginia bought this Sung ware Royal Doulton vase for $5 in an antique mall. FM = Fred Moore. (From a FB group I belong to.)

We've been looking at house for sale further south, and I've seen a few there. Google maps has shown the area to be quite nice!

Oh also for those who don't know: Alphonse 'Alpho' Mouton was an artist from the south of France who worked in the 1930s up to the 80s, the blue pieces like these are mid century. I did see on a website that the brown tones are an economic decision he made in the 80s, but I'm not sure that applies to these. His green and black/brown ones are later examples, I have one green and black and also an early lighter blue miniature vase.
