LOL! ..... You may be right. I have to think this just hit the shelf. The store was packed with shoppers. Most were looking at clothes with only a few casually shopping the housewares aisles. It was right at the front of the shelf so not hidden in any way. Maybe a can't see the forest for trees kind of thing with all the, otherwise, plain old junk.

It sounds like a person to me too.;) We call it a bonbonnière (feminine).

Just to clarify: I wasn’t being a bon bon snob above — I actually read the word candies as “candles”. For possible explanations, see the Introductions forum. :) And yes, I did wonder, in passing, how a candle would possibly go with the handle. At least they rhyme…

To most Americans, it meant you were posting on your phone, and Auto(in)correct struck again.

Yeah, I thought of blaming the autocorrect but that would’ve meant I was persnickety enough to suggest a bon bon basket couldn’t possibly be used for regular candy… and I couldn’t do that, after living in Alabama for 30 years…

P.S. I seem to remember your handle from the ebay AB too— over ten years ago?

Yup. I was on the Boards and migrated over here when the invitation came. Jumped ship from the hellhole they became.

I don’t want to hijack the thread but it seems most everyone migrated here. This site didn’t exist before I left AB & we moved back to Europe. It’s nice to see so many familiar “faces” :).

several of us were booted off the site.....or pink slipped by the Pinkies and invited here .......by stellar members who had already left and found Antiquers..

I was on the Part Time Sellers board.....a lesser known board...but we got the Pinks attention at every corner !!:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::singing::singing::singing::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:

Well, I left for similar reason (was unjustly sent to the showers). I decided to take a proper break and eBay had abolished the boards before I looked back.

I was Lily*Lalique on the boards. We had some good online parties back in the day!

No problem. Easy to see how that can be done when reading on a phone. Hard to see that dot separation on the i. Had to go back and make sure I wrote it correctly. I suggested candies since the small size really wouldn't hold too many bonbons. Maybe just enough.....;)

So funny. I read "candles" too. Again, great piece Brad.

Welcome (back) Finnclouds. Great group here and hope you won't be a stranger! Many folks from the old Ebay boards still here. I don't think I knew you, but was over there, too. Welcome!

Lily Lalique is a lovely name, I would’ve remembered it, AND most definitely remembered any online parties :), so we probably didn’t cross paths. Lucille.b sounds very familiar but I mostly hang out with the silverados & didn’t “know” many people from the other boards. I’m a research junkie and like puzzles, figuring out obscure silver hallmarks and patterns proved the perfect pastime— didn’t feel like total waste of time, like e.g. spider solitaire.

Apologies to Brad for hijacking the thread!
