Hello! Does anyone know what this is? I thought it was a lamp, but there is no wiring, and no indication that it once had wiring. There are 3 locations with a threaded nut at the end. Maybe it had attachments for holding candles? I'm stumped!

    Welcome, Erin.
It is difficult to see where the threaded points are in your photos. Can you show us more details of those, as well as the bottom of the piece?

When you attach photos to your reply, please select "full image". It makes the photos easier for us to see.

Hi all! Thank you for replying! Here are a few pics of the threaded ends, and of the base. I can upload a full underneath pic later today.

I'd say it was a lamp at its creation. Take off those threaded bits and I bet those parts are tubes. This would mean that it should have a hole at the center of the base for the wire to exit. I can imagine that two lower tubes were once bent to rest against the hands of the cherub.

I removed the base completely to see if the tube is hollow, but it's only hollow for about an inch, then it stops (q-tip for reference). I took off one of the nuts from up top, but it's just a nut, it's not covering anything.

The ballerina's scarf/sash seems to be made of actual fabric that was painted gold. The texture reminds me of the lace you see on porcelain Dresdens.

    Continuing down the lamp road...

The q-tip may have stopped due to old wiring stuck in there.

You took off the top nut. What about the threaded part screwed into the tube? I'm thinking that the lamp parts were removed, after replacing the wires became and issue, and the threaded insert with its nut held the retrofitted creation.

Besides the above, to me it has a post WWII vibe to it.

Reminds me of the 1950's Italian lamps and decorative work. Some had the word 'Italy' within the leaf work of it's branches ?
