Currently think the one that comes closest to the one in the painting is the Swedish Säckpipa.

But there are so so so many bagpipes I haven't looked at.

Just heard a BBC World Service news tidbit say that a painting hanging in the Paris apartment of an elderly woman is thought to be a lost work by an artist whose name I thought was pronounced cheem-AH-bway pronounced as cheem-a-BOO-ee by presenter. Cimabue, anyone?

Hi @Jeanette Torello & @Bronwen, don't know if this helps clarify the images any, but I find "Topaz Gigapixel AI" sometimes does......the guy towards the background playing the 'flute'(?) with the bag against his chest has an awfully pointy ear!!!!
