cranberry glass footed vase E.jpg Need help in identifying manufacturer, model name, and date:

    Height: 26.5 cm
    Rim diameter: 8.2 cm
    Bowl diameter: 8.5 cm
    Foot diameter: 9.5 cm
    Weight: 551 grams

The cranberry-coloured body and clear glass foot show striations indicative of it being hand-blown. The pontil mark is visible, and although polished, can be felt.

Using reverse image, I have found one similar plain rim and without the decoration round the bowl; but the seller offers no information.

The final photograph is similarly decorated round the bowl, but different shaped flared rim. The seller claims it is a “Fratelli Betti Empoli hand blown cranberry vase.”

Is this vase a little bit up-market from the general run of these type of vases?

    Many thanks.

Isnt that called rigaree glass ? Very pretty.Great pics too ! The seller is,in my humble opinion, trying to gild the lily. That type has been made forever in pretty much every country. If they arent still being made today exactly like that.

@johnnycb09 Thanks. That adds to my knowledge; but now I need a chart of rigaree patterns so I can find a particular design that corresponds to the maker of my vase. I don't expect that is going to be easy; but it opens another avenue.

The positive view of the Empoli group on Facebook is that it was made by
Cristalleria Fratelli Betti during the 1970s. Thanks once again for you comments.
