Hi all :cat: I bought this bracelet around a year ago and just wondered what you think its age is? I bought it from someone who said it had been in their family a long time, and they assumed it was Victorian, but it looks later to me - Art Deco? It came with the box but of course that may not be original to the bracelet.

It's obviously seen better days but I thought it was so sweet and just bought it to wear. Has a few missing pieces at the ends, I find it odd that the swirly pieces are claw set?! Maybe it was simpler/cheaper to make that way?

also, does anyone have any advice on cleaning it? It's not silver, so I'm not really sure what to use on it.

    Thank you :joyful:

Looks more fifties to my eye. An old toothbrush with a little spray window cleaner on the stones, sunshine cloth on the rest.

Ahh, later than I thought! Is there anything in particular that gives its age away? Apologies for the questions, I'm trying to learn.

And thank you for the advice, off to order some sunshine clothes  Hopefully I can get it sparkling a bit more again.

The box looks like a pen box.

Certainly not Victorian. But looks earlier than the 1950s to my eye. The box + bracelet is a marriage. No marks at all?

    Gotta love green!

Agree that box did not originally go with this. I've not seen construction like this from the back before. Does the bracelet have any stretch?

No, definitely no marks anywhere unfortunately!

No stretch, but the smaller stones shift a little on those strips along the back. It looks to be lots of little strips of metal that attach inside the casing of the small green stones - so the swirly ones move a little but are kept mostly in place by the small green stones. If that makes sense!

To mine too. Could be 1920s.
