Featured Antique Vesta Lighter

    I recently stumbled upon a fascinating find at an antique fair—a vesta lighter.
    I decided to purchase it for 15 GBP, despite a crack on the lid, which comes as no surprise considering its age. As I examined the lighter closely, I discovered some hallmarks engraved on it, indicating its origin. The hallmarks revealed that it was made in England, specifically in Birmingham, with an additional letter "K." After some investigation, I deduced that the year of its creation could potentially be 1909, or possibly between 1925 and 1930.

    They are surprisingly common, however your's looks like it has been altered to accommodate a lighter.

    They are normally hollow to put matches in and the ribbed bottom is the striker.

    I might add, very good photographs.

    I believe it is Joseph Gloster Ltd - I've compared the partially visible mark with another source and I think it's spot on. Hallmark.jpg hallmark.jpeg
