Hello, I have this Japanese rice bowl (what I think it is) but I can’t seem to find this signature anywhere. Any ideas? Also the bowl is very translucent- if I put the bowl up to a dim light I can see my finger through the bottom barely.

So the translucency means that it is porcelain. I don't think there is much age to it considering the design that I can glimpse in the photo. I do think it is Japanese. The mark needs to be rotated 90 degrees to the right, but I think it's a script mark which may make it hard to decipher.

Your mark needs to be rotated clockwise so it's vertical. Did you try google images for the bowl itself? It shouldn't be too hard to find, because it was made in a factory vs a studio.

I could find similar Japanese rice bowls online, but none with this design or signature style. I looked in eBay search and google search. IMG_5447.jpeg IMG_5444.jpeg IMG_5445.jpeg IMG_5446.jpeg
