Mother of pearl last supper

    Does anyone have any info on this what i think is mother of pearl background painted last supper.? JPEG_20240119_074103_resize_27.jpg JPEG_20240119_074124_resize_0.jpg JPEG_20240119_074150_resize_2.jpg JPEG_20240119_074240_resize_89.jpg JPEG_20240119_074352_resize_19.jpg .not sure what to make of the applied paintwork but thought the whole thing a bit different.

    There is an inlay frame maybe its indian.?i dont know.it measures 18 inches by 10 and half inches.

    Everyone here seems to be able to post links too.im sure its easy when you know how.im not great with phones

    Probably Middle Eastern. The plaque itself is some sort of artificial material.
    I see these a lot in Middle Eastern and Egyptian Christian restaurants and shops around here

    In the pocket knife world that MOP looking material is called cracked ice.

    Many of the links komo provided mention the term "capiz", which was new to me. I don't think it applies to this plaque. As others have noted it is more likely an artificial material. Nevertheless, here is some info on capiz shell -

    It looks like the material of table tops in all night diners of a certain age.

    I don't have a fart smone.....so I don't know how you guys manage on a tiny screen.
    If u can figure out how to use Google Image Search.......that'll go a long way towards helping you find similar items to what you have !
