Hello all picked this up at an estate sale and was wondering if anyone had any info or idea on value. I know the history of the work just was curious as if it was a re print or authentic thanks! IMG_1318.jpeg IMG_1320.jpeg IMG_1319.jpeg

Prints and fabric in that style were easily found in the 70s.

2 copies found online (both from Abe Books):

The first appears to have printing on the back, the second does not, so it seems the image was reprinted (who knows how many times). Neither of these has the rounded corners of the plate mark in yours.

I can't tell anything about yours from the photo, except that it looks faded, and, personally, that frame is not my cup of tea (although it does look antique).

Agreed it looks like a quite faded modern print. You can confirm that by using a jeweler's loupe or other magnification (sometimes zoom on your phone's photo app works) to see if you spot half tone dots.

The frame is a fairly modern one you can probably still get today.

I was leaning the same way as the plate corners do seem far to defined and rounded and the measurement of the print on the inside of the frame is 20”x24” and I believe the originals were something like 18”x22”. Just thought maybe I was missing something as I’m no expert and couldn’t see the half dots but probably not using enough magnification. Thanks all!

The stickers including UPC on the back alone are a strong indication that the print is decorative. And a internet search for "Decorative Arts, Inc." brings up a number of framed reproductions, including this work by Sargent.

Yeah I did do a little research into that company as well and found they did framing of both originals and prints and also interior decorating and design for department stores but not sure if they are still in business never tried the number and there is no website. Thanks for you help though! It came in a lot of things with these two as well.

A long, long time since I saw one of those bamboo slat pictures.

That was actually the one I was drawn too lol I actually removed the back as it’s only wood planks and it is attached to a very old print of a Victorian looking girl.
