Found these free on fb marketplace, & Grabbed these out of Grandma's house....upholstery is in great shape/apparently always were covered or possibly redone recently per the previous owner. I did a lens search and similar styles look expensive/desirable but these have no brand markings that i can see. Diamond in the rough or clutter for my garage? TIA! 1970s or so, used furniture. Styling is quasi-Spanish (Mediterranean). Value is in their utility.

    Upholstery looks original to period.

I agree with what verybrad said... 1970s and the only value is in their utility. They're not a popular style or color in my neck of the woods. If they are sturdy, I'd feel lucky to get $100 for the lot. Having six makes them potentially sale-able. If I had only four, I'd probably donate rather than take the time to try to sell.
Personally, I stay away from anything with caning, for both personal use and for resale. Most people are aware that once it's damaged, it's toast. (Often not worth the cost of professional repair.) [EDIT: It's not something I would try myself, but perhaps others are more brave.]

Helpful, thanks!! I was thinking the opposite (caning made it more desirable).

I like the look of caning in many instances... but 1970s stuff, not so much. (But that's just me, I don't like the look of lots of 1970s stuff.) I do like the caning on the nicer quality Hemingway-era/style stuff. But the potential future repair issues... :nailbiting:

Though maybe not your style, I’ve seen some designers be successful by taking 70s style, very ornate designs such as these chairs, and painting them a vibrant color (magenta, kelly green, etc). This may be a trend for eclectic, boho, artistic or similar styles.

P.S. I know this may be considered furniture heresy in this group ;-)
