Went a bit daft at the end of today's excursion. It's a Rosenthal vase by Fischer Treyden. It was £50 but I really like it and it's pretty quirky. It's 22cm tall.

It’s a Bjorn Wiinblad design too, they collaborated. I’m trying to remember the range name. Very Klimt.

I think that's may be designer Bjørn Wiinblad 's signature in gold.

Good evening. Thanks for the info. I noticed that name floating about too and it is inscribed on the base of some of them. Who might Fischer Treyden be then?

Thanks. I've found a few on eBay in blue. Not many in white. They also did them in a fair few different shapes and also different patterns. One listing states 1970s. It's in remarkably good condition if it's 50 years old.

Never really had much exposure to Klimt. Just looked him up and also love his work.

Oh WOW! What a beautiful vase. I don't think you over paid at all. Whenever I was lucky enough to find a Rosenthal Studio Line anything, I always did very well on resale (except for the pieces I kept for myself). Oh, and I also believe it be made in the 70s.

Thank you. Not sure what I am doing with it at present. Just going to enjoy it for a while. :)

They worked together. It’s a fairly typical Rosenthal shape of the time, and yes, I believe she was responsible for that look. Wiinblad did have input on shapes as well, in that he needed to make sure the decoration was in keeping. So it’s a true collaboration.

I adore Klimt, too, and I think it’s one reason I like Wiinblad so much, he used a lot of gold and exuberance.

Rosenthal is superb quality so it usually shows very little wear. I grew up with it. We had an au pair who’s mama worked for them, and she sent many pieces over.

The Rosenthal studio line (studio linie) used to do quite well. Wiinblad also did a group based on The Magic Flute. Many well-known designers participated and created wares for this unique line. Rosenthal is quality stuff.

They’re always really well glazed. The gilding simply never wears.

I'm guessing whoever owned it, looked after it well also. Not the sort of thing you'd like to throw about.
