I found 5-6 new paintings today including some beautiful Haitian paintings - and these two!

1 looks like possibly by a graffiti artist, but the colors & details are something! Thoughts on this one? Any idea who the artist is? (I see Ricky or Richy but I can't make out the signature above that -it even looks like a graffiti 'tag'?

The 2nd one of the horses is done on a framed board of some kind & is signed B Dodge - has anyone heard of him/her? Googling it turns up a lot variations for B (Robert, etc) but the majority was for a Arthur B (Burnside) Dodge, but signature was different.

If the horses are by a weekend artist or student artist I won't be surprised, but the clown is one I am most curious about!
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I thought the clown might be a print because it feels smooth; no ripples from the brush, so I looked along the edges & found these paint marks - so it is a painting!
PS - I can't find my measuring tape so 1st pic is to show it's size (somewhat)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I think the graffiti-like signature says Richy with another letter or two after it. Defnitely an H rather than K as the fourth letter.

I can't make out anything above that.

I might be completely off on this but it might be "Richard" the first half looks like Rich to me and the second but has overpaint on the letters. That would also fit with "Ricky".

For research, I might try to find any grafetti art groups local-ish to you. They may know the artist, but at the least they may be able to interpret the signature....kind of like how Metal Heads can read metal band logos. :p

Would a Giclee have brush marks on sides of frame ? The stretched ones I've seen have a straight edge where printing ends and white canvas begins.

There is always the possibly of a "re-touched" giclée. Artist makes a print, adds some painted details, and then charges more for it than a standard giclée. I'm not saying that's what this is...because spray paint or airbrush can be very flat looking...but it is possible. I would look at the piece tilted, so light runs over areas of different color, to look for layers and imperfections, pooling, etc.
