Have been attempting to establish the authenticity of a Dupont Ligne 1 lighter I recently purchased. I emailed Dupont directly with serial numbers but was told that - for security reasons - they were unable to verify, and that I should contact Auction Houses such as Christie’s, Drouot or Sotheby’s for assistance...

    Serial number on base reads:
    G3CA10

Serial number beneath lid plate reads:
    X7603

    Weight is approximately 92g

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you for reading.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

I got no problem with this one......
I have the same one sitting right here...

    weight is similar
    numbering is similar
    script is similar
    case is similar
orange paint under the filling cap is consistent with the gas required

I can't see your winged wheel stamp......but it's where it should be...

& you'll pardon me if I don't tear it apart to see the markings under the lid plate , but yours looks ok from here !
I bought mine 2nd hand in the eighties .....

I don't know what's going on with DuPont ....... security my ass......I bought and sold their lighters for years , mainly because I was astounded by their quality and functionality and design...but also because they stood behind their high end products.....!

I'm sure yours has the required ' Ping ' !!!

I have mine in their blue leather case........
if u could go to your post and hit edit and Full image..that would be welcomed !!!

Hello! Nothing to worry about here. The lighter you have is indeed genuine, and it exhibits all the usual signs of an authentic ST Dupont lighter. You are correct in that
ST Dupont doesn't provide any authentication information based on photos or identification numbers for security reasons, so that's why you won't find specific authentication details.

Regarding the sound, while the Ligne 1 BR model will make a sound when opened, it doesn't have the distinctive 'ping' that we all associate with the Ligne 2 model. However, keep in mind that different models can have variations in their sound profiles.
