Featured Cobalt Glass with Gold Thistles

I got to go to a house to purchase goodies this past weekend. I got a really good variety of things including five big boxes of glassware, which I didn't unwrap before buying. I love a good surprise and an even better mystery.

I haven't been able to come up with anything for these. All are unmarked. Any guesses?

Did a quick search for "thistle" on chataboutdg but didn't see it. You could search there for "CHS" (for center handle server) and try to ID the one you have. That may lead you to a pattern. The key to IDing them is the shape of the handle. Search here, the search box is in the top right:

Do you think they did the decorating too?

I couldn't find a McKee thistle etch. There were companies, like Lotus, who bought glass blanks and decorated them. Though all the pieces are octagon they may not be made by the same company.

 

I have so much to learn about glass.

 

I know lots, but I have a whole lot more to learn
