    Unfortunately this came with the house. I don't have any clues as to its origin. Very curious about it. Wood is rotting on one side.

    How do you know it's a table base?

    It looks like an old trough, with pieces added and pieces missing.

    At first glance, it looks like some type of handmade trough.

    The pipe? that is sticking up from the bottom - does it go all the way through? Was this an outside piece?

    @Debora types faster than me. :p:p :happy::kiss:

    Yes this was an outside piece - the pipe doesn't go all the way through, or it's stopped up

    I agree on a trough - feeding trough. You can see on the one rail that is worn was an animal's favorite place to rest it's neck while it ate - maybe for goats.

    The pipe could have been where they placed an umbrella like cover for rainy days.

    You could probably use it as a flower planter at least for a few years till it totally falls apart.

    Yes this was an outside piece - the pipe actually doesn't go all the way through

    With a glass top I'd use it as a table. But that's me:)

    I think the people who tried to flip the house went antique shopping.
