Featured Ugliest vase you ever saw?

I asked that question to the guy working at the mall and he said, 'I've seen way uglier.' Maybe.

Anyway, this was behind other stuff, dusty, overlooked, forgotten, etc. And cheap.

The only thing I've found online is this thread on collectorsweekly.com:

That site claims their very similar jar is a Japanese thumbprint vase. I can't find anything else like that.

Does anyone have any other info or leads?

You can / should also chime in on how terribly ugly it is.

in the summer I sometimes get a soft ice cream cone dipped in milk chocolate.....after a few licks...........your vase !!

 

Alright, here it is: Yes, it is ugly. The ugliest thing about it is that they applied those ice cream lick flowers all around.

Definitely even uglier than Pottery's. Congratulations on the sale though.

Its ugly alright. That glaze immediately made me think Asian.Dont know why. I actually like Terry's vase ! Its weird and quite quirky.

You know, I think it might be passable if it weren't for the gawdawful glaze. I'm amazed at how much Terry's vase sold for!

Very faint stamp on the rim of mine, that may have said 'Made in Japan'
