This is my latest charity shop find - a mid-century Roland Landerholm pewter pendant for £1.

SCORE! All I found today were some cookies courtesy of a drug store chain - they treated.

Had to hit one at an estate sale once. I wasn't the first one into the jewelry either and can only imagine there were 14k earrings I never saw. Oh well.

Went to the Ill Will mostly to walk around, and walk around is all I did. They had a pile of measuring cups, useful if one needs measuring cups. I already have two sets. Went to the ReStore and found a vase marked $9, probably because the lady who handles the "nice" things knew it was nice but couldnt' find a siggie. I didn't either, but did figure out that it's Ittalla. Finnish glass.

    Like this one.

Then I went to the grocery store in an act of masochism. They'd called an All Hands Drill for the staff and all of the cash registers had lines. The self-scan had an even longer line. Took as long to check out as it did to find everything.

In the summer I cleared a house out in the city.

There was not much of any value as the distant relatives had taken what they wanted, but I was well paid for getting rid of the rubbish.

No one thought to look in the attic :cool:

I recovered 4 very large cardboard boxes which had been sealed with plastic.
One box contained hundreds of motoring magazines from the late 50's.
The other 3 contained a massive amount of cigarette cards dating from 1890 to around WWII.

Many were already sorted into sets and placed in 1970's empty cigarette cartons.

Over the past few months I have been checking sorting and cataloging them.

Upto now I have 154 boxed sets in near mint condition valued between £25 and £800 a set.

And thousands of loose cards from all over the world waiting to be checked.
    Its never ending.

What a find!!! Do you ever deal with auction houses? Would they sort that and sell it for you?

Wowser. If there are cards that are not worth selling or slightly damaged, they are good for craft projects and here people make up bags of ephemera that they sell for a few dollars. As I've said many times, I've never met a piece of paper that I didn't like.

    Now THAT is a scarf.

Just thought I'd show what was in my stocking this year. Bought and stashed by me over a period of time. Kitty ring (sterling), pin (pewter) and necklace (gold filled on a good day), lemon pin (plastic), enameled copper pendant, Japanese damascene bracelet, pewter earrings, chrysoprase/dyed agate pin, and a Roman glass and resin in sterling Hamsa. Chinese copper and turquoise necklace too - no great shakes, but it's pretty. Says China right on the clasp.

    Nice stash!

It’s actually a giant stole size, and pure silk, embossed. Happy me.

Bright and shiny rules the day, especially when it's gray and nasty out. We've had British weather for Chrismtas - gray and foggy. Couldn't see the treetops, sometimes.
