    IMG_6560.png IMG_6559.png IMG_6555.png IMG_6557.png Happy Christmas everyone. Waiting around before heading to family for Christmas I bought this Gaudy Welsh sucrier on eBay.

    I don’t usually buy Gaudy Welsh as it’s out of favour with buyers but I’ve never seen this pattern before and it’s not in my two Gaudy Welsh books.

    Has anyone else seen it and, if so, do you know the pattern name?

    I think yours looks quite similar to this one in Shuman's book The Collector's Encyclopedia of Gaudy Dutch & Welsh.

    From the Gaudy Welsh section. The description list of 125 known patterns has one he's called Castle Medallion that sounds rather like the "Castle" pattern photo to me.

    The Web's getting better & better,but you still can't beat the books for answers.Folks just don't build personal reference libraries anymore,that's why this family of collected wisdom's so great.
