I had someone offer me $350 for it out of the blue. But I can't find another to compare it to.

Noel Barrett is the toy expert on Antiques Roadshow, HOWEVER, I believe you can contact him on the below link!! Worth a try anyway.....he always has the unusual, and I believe runs his own Auction House........GOOD Luck!!!

My sister found some similar toys with the same base. Prices are all over the place.

I'm going to hold onto it for now and do some more research.

    Thank you everyone!

    Well found SIS! :)

Great item, Vintage Robin. I think important to compare apples to apples. Toys with a similar base may sell for less, but not be as rare as this particular version.

No idea if prices have gone up or down on this kind of thing since 2014, but $1,800! Definitely pass on the $350 offer.

I sent pics to them and the reply was "value $200 and we wouldn't sell it individually."

I think I can do better.

Wow, surprising. I'd thank them, and be tempted to send them the Live Auctioneers listing and total sale with buyer premium. Just to see if they wrote back with a correction.

they could always reply that the auction was a one off at a time when prices were crazy......... but 2000 to 200.......that's still worth looking into !!!!!!!

I did thank them. I know they'll say the $1500 sale was too old to be relied on for current value. But since I've been offered $350, I know it's at least worth that.

I have also contacted the auction house that sold the $1500 one. I'm waiting for a response.

It's missing a piece in the middle. Was it a bank originally?

The base appears to have been used for different toys. Some had something in the middle.

I got a reply from the auction house that sold the toy in the link. They will take it for a toy auction they have planned for August.

I'm thinking of putting it on ebay at a ridiculous BIN price and see what happens. I have until August to decide on the auction house and some similar Meier toys have brought much more than 1500 at auction.

After more thought and a cessation of greed, I listed it as an auction with a starting bid of $350 which is what I was offered. I got a bid overnight and about a dozen watchers. I'll see where it goes and be happy with where it ends.

    Thank you, everyone!

Hope it does really well! I just put it on my watch list (I'm not a buyer though) just so you know.
