You are so right. I have about 25 weights of which three are special. I started off selling my pretty but not especially good weights to make room for some nice pieces. This started an avalanche of desire.

Oh I love them! Have yet to find a single decent one. Just not common around here for some reason but I keep my eyes open because you never know!. Love this: "This started an avalanche of desire." Perfectly describes getting into a new hobby. Sure, it starts off casual . . .

Thank you. I pick up weights about five times a year, but the best weights like the Paul Ysart have been at market price. I did get some Perthshire and Murano weights at a better price by trolling around when the fever overtakes me. Unlike @Ownedbybear who has a magical touch, I don't happen on anything really good in the wild. You never know is right. That's the fun part.

But is it one those mass produced export items from India? That was my first thought (the little inlay details seems typical) But is seems maybe better quality and detailsl? Just wanted to check. It 27,5 cm long.

Luck is still with me and I found another good sale this weekend. Usually this time of year is tough picking!

McCoy vase, Federal Madrid cookie jar, set of 5 cut and polished wines and set of 6 gray cut tumblers:

Went back day 2 because these purses were priced a bit high for me to resale. Luckily there were still there - and 1/2 price :wacky:

Bear with a Win again. Mourning jewelry of the most legitimate sort, a Scottish pin and some bar brooches! My tuits have been square lately; when I find a round one I'll get photos up of this week's goodies. Yesterday was the morning of the last estate sale before Christmas and I think Santa came down the chimney this time. Went back today and spent $10 on not much - envelopes and 1930s scrap fabric.

Now I get to go over to a Church Christmas party, my church, for a bit.

The givre bracelet showed up for a whole dollar on Thursday. The rest is from an estate sale Friday morning. Sterling spoons and a silver handle cake server. One of the spoons is Tiffany sterling. Most are really old souvenir spoons; one is engraved 1893. The autograph book is an unusual shape with celluloid flowers. The napking rings are silver-plate, but old. The ivory is ivory, The copper brooch may be artisan and the coral flowers are glass. The crown is MMA (darnitt, fooled me) and the filigree pins are costume. (didn't fool me; I just didn't care. I collect them.)

The coral necklace is coral and most likely gold. The coral and ivory earrings probably have gold findings. The little watch pin and circle pin are 14k. The little ball earrings are probably gold too, but no marks. The winner seems to be the watch chain. It all seems to be of a piece, and not a mark to its name. I need to test the links, but the clasp rings up a nice solid 18k. If that's gold.... about 27g of 18k is what I call a bargain.

    A real mixed bag today.

These Vernonware, Homespun dishes were $9.50 for the lot. Besides the pitcher, there are actually 8 of the small bowls (4 pictured), and 3 oval plates. The other branch of this same thrift store had a bit larger set of this pattern in their Botique section for $80.00. The ones I bought slipped through and were sent to the other store somehow. I like the price I paid for these a whole lot better.

    This lamp shade was $2.00.

This older Delft tile was also $2.00.

This 14 KGF Cross pen and pencil set was $3.00. Has all the paperwork still in the box.

I actually bought the lid to this large Guardian Ware pot first, earlier this year. Found the bottom just recently. Think I probably have $5-6.00 total into this.
