Hi, all! I could really use some help with two cut to clear goblets. The first is green and, to my inexpert eye, seems pretty special. It has an upside-down teardrop bubble in the stem and the cutting seems really intricate and well done. Please let me know what you think. Any way to identify the maker? Here are the pictures.....

This goblet is 8 1/2" tall

The cutting on this one is less refined. It is, however, very large and has an air twist stem. It is 12 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" diameter at the top.

If I had to start looking I would start with czechoslovakian / Bohemian or even more recent czech glass. They have done a lot of this type work. I have seen boxed sets with 4 different colors each with a different cut. They were sold in department stores in the US. Poland also comes to mind as a possible origin. Exact maker will be hard to pin down

Those are super pretty. Really tall, too.

I looked around last night and found similar described as everything from St. Louis, France, German, Czech/Bohemian, and American Brilliant Period. Some sold in the $200-$300 range per piece.
I think it's probably worth taking your time to research thoroughly. I bet the board will be slow until after Thanksgiving, so sit tight.

Thank you for the responses! When I picked these up at a local thrift shop, I left four of different colors like Bdigger describes. The cutting was nowhere near as nice as the green one so I chose to buy that one. I chose the purple one because of its huge size and the air twist in the stem. The cutting is not as good or detailed on that one but the size is spectacular! Those 4 others? They are still at the shop priced at $10 each.

Thanks again and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd go grab the others. Second one has an airtwist stem, and nicely done.

Bohemian, and I suspect post WW2.

LOL, well I did go back and look at those other four on your prompting. But, I just wasn't feeling it. They just don't seem to be as good quality as the green one above. I don't know. If they're still there next week, I might pick them up. I'll have to be in the mood, I guess. :)

Yeah, they have the sawtooth cuttings along the stem, but no air bubble in the stem. The foot is cut in a scalloped pattern. However, that just made it more obvious that they weren't cut but a terribly skilled person.

No, I'm sorry, the cutting isn't the same. Thanks for trying!

Bumping this up in the hopes that more eyes are looking at these pages now that the holiday is over. Any ideas on these?

    Thanks!
