You have a good eye. Why not use it for a little self-education, fun and profit?

Ohh the balance! I sometimes bring things home to sell and then start getting attached ha. Luckily there is almost never any good large art here because my walls are pretty full. ;) I'm glad you've got some stuff at auction houses and I hope you do well!

Nothing too great to show today but I bought them .... so why not?

This little 8" x 10" landscape on board came in a cheap 70s Mexican frame. Signed B.C. I have no attribution. Kind of like the dark colors and loose execution. Only $3.00.

This clearly amateur painting is signed Dee Siegmund. It was one of 4 by this artist at the thrift. I liked this one best. 16" x 20" and came unframed. Was $4.00.

This fairly large framed AAA pedestrian safety poster is from 1941. Will probably take it out of the frame and try to get it flattened out a bit. A little out of my comfort zone at $8.00 ..... LOL... J/K ;)

Some folks still need these reminders. Around here in some places people just walk into traffic and expect the cars to stop.

That safety poster is a lot of fun. I enjoy the design of it.

Here's a Goidwill painting I've had a long time. Signed "H. Peterson" which is, unfortunately, too common a name for me to find much. It's decent, no?

Looks like someone who lovessss detail, working from a photo. It definitely looks happy. The kind of thing that makes you feel the breeze and sun and want to go outside when you look at it.

Yeah-- I think you're totally right on that. Thanks for the astute observation.

Quite good but there is that darned textured side of the masonite again. Never understood why anyone would think it an appropriate paint surface.

    Poor man's canvas texture...

This painting is actually on a mass-produced commercial canvas and wood frame. My close-up photo is def misleading. Sorry 'bout that!

Really? Hard to believe that so much texture of the canvas is showing through. Must not have been prepared first. Also, is it a small painting? Canvas texture seems disproportionate unless a small work or a coarse textures canvas (like burlap).

The painting is larger-- maybe 16" x 20". I will take some more pics when I get home.

Here some more pics. It's weird: I can't get my phone's camera to capture really good images of this one. The colors on the painting are 'saturated.'

    Anyway, thanks for the comments.

That may be an "enhanced" photograph printed on whatever. Sure looks like one.
