Featured Antique bottle .... or reproduction?

Picked up this bottle for a couple bucks at the thrift store the other day. I am thinking it is a reproduction but thought I should run it by here to see what others thought. Here are the particulars:
- About 8 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" diameter
- Hand blown, onion shape
- Indent bottom, with no pontil mark
- Fairly thin glass
- Hand blown imperfections in the glass... bubbles, striations, differences in thickness
- Top has some finishing... Sort of a double ring but really doesn't look applied
- Significant wear to the bottom but little scratching or wear to the sides
- Green-grey color tint to the glass

Even if a reproduction, any idea of the bottle type? Wine bottle?

 

Is it UV reactive, Brad?

 

Maybe vinegar?

I don't know. I don't think I have a UV light around here. Does not seem like it would be.

 

Is that a screw top ? The shape looks right,but the color and thickness dont to me. But then again I was into bottles when I was like 15,many moons ago now so my memory may be faulty.Id guess liquor bottle too.

That's called a fiasco. Considered that but don't think shape quite right.

You're right, it isn't a fiasco minus straw. Fiascos are more pear shaped, and they don't have the indentation in the base.

Which leads me to wonder how fiasco became a description for a screwed up situation...snafu in American GI slang, an' fubar.

 

Not a screw top. The two bands at the neck taper off a bit on the other side. Will try to get another pic for you. In a closer look, they could be applied but don't have the clunky look of most applied rims on old bottles. Have not found any other bottles with a finished top quite like this.

 

Here is a better pic of the top, showing the opposite side. The top ring is pretty consistent all the way around. The lower ring gets a bit messy on this side and tapers off. I am 50/50 as to whether these are applied or not. Could very well be that they are just tooled in to the molten glass. There really is no discernible seam where they join the neck.

 

Most of the onion bottles I am seeing are much darker in color and thicker glass than this. However, I did find this apothecary bottle that is closer in color and thickness. It has an obviously applied top that is different than mine.
