IMG_0252.jpg IMG_0251.jpg I have what I think is a 17th century wood Bible of document box. It is held together with joints I've never seen before I hope someone can help.

We will need to see the whole box to understand where the joins are.

Of course I remember the thread but no one talked about the joints

You didn't ask, nor did you mention them. You didn't provide closeups at the time either.
Anyway, there are closeups now, in a second thread. Could you post a view from the top, so we can see a cross section?

The joints in the Larousse are not exclusively French, they are joints known throughout the Western world.

There is nothing French about your box, and it is not English either. As I said before, it looks like a Dutch Frisian box to me.

then it would have been helpful to ask your joint question on the same thread , so we'd all know what was already said, and could add to that without jumping back and forth between two threads of the same item.;)
