Featured Is this a hat pin, or a scarf pin....or some other pin?

Found this in my grandmother's things after she passed and held onto it. The pin part is about 3 inches long which seems short for a hat pin but I'd like to know more about it, specifically age but any info is great. Thx!

It does not seem that a hat pin that short, but with a cap to secure it, would make much sense. It is not like you could reach under the hat and into your hair to put the cap on.

I would use those dates with caution. The seller writes "Edwardian" and then "1910-1930." That is not the Edwardian period.
