I acquired these just before Thanksgiving as part of a small Japanese-porcelain lot. They are all approximately 4.5 inches (12 cm) in diameter.

I'm requesting help identifying any of these. I am particularly curious about the bowl on the far right, but any information about any of these will be much appreciated.

    My questions:
    1. What do you call this style of small bowls?
    2. Does anyone recognize any of the maker marks on the bottom?

Rice bowls. Pretty ones. Not sure they’re that old.

They look like tea bowls to me.
    Ditto.

Bowl with the metallic rings, first character is 瑞 (Zui), can get the second character, I think the stylisation is throwing me off.

Large flowers one is 京華 Kyoka (flower capital?)

Can't make out the last one, none seem to have any age though, they all seem like late 20th century ones.

Thanks for the responses ... and translations.

Consensus seems to be rice bowls or tea Bowls, and unfortunately probably not old. With that said, the one on the right I might keep; it seems thin/delicate and ...well, I just like it for some reason. The rest might wind up in my antique/home-decor booth that I have for a couple bucks each.

Lastly, for non-Japanese readers like myself, this genre, Japanese porcelain, seems particularly challenging. I googled a bit hoping to find a good resource of Japanese maker marks or signatures (not sure the proper term) but had very limited results.

Thank you Mikey. Bookmarked. Excellent site. I will be referring to it. I like how on gothenborg page that 'Any Jewelry' mentioned, you can kinda try to match a style then try to match a mark.

I read some of the gothenborg site last night. It is a super-convoluted subject. I had a feeling that Japanese marks would not be simple. lol Thanks everyone.
