Featured Luigi Lucioni Etching of Trees 1948

I bought this etching at an estate sale yesterday. Luckily I recognized the signature right away and grabbed it off the wall, it was one of those sales where you had to move fast through the house. I wanted to post it because it was a good find and this is one of my bucket list artists for my collection. I have been seeing works by this artist for years in shops, but I could not afford them. This one is in great shape and has a decent frame, could use a new mat. Just thought I would share.

 

Great find Litho ! I also love his oil paintings-superb landscape artist.
PS-I gave up the ferocity of Estate Sales years ago.May I ask-were you one of the first pickers in the house or did you get lucky later in the day ?

I didn’t wait in line because it has snowed here. I showed up 10 minutes after it opened. Missed a few things I would have liked, but that is OK.

 

That’s nice, I think maybe I have seen an original painting once in a shop.

 

Look at the exquisite rendering of the birch bark.
