    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    I remember seeing that thread fairly recently. But can't find it, either. I did figure out that search terms on this site have to be exact. Which I normally like, but have gotten used to online search engines that also search for similar spellings. That doesn't work on this site.

    It was @Debora who pointed out that double-caning may be associated with warmer climates.
    (Search word required was the hyphenated "double-caned".)

    Yes, it was I. Unusual to my eye and I posited a colonial origin/influence. But I did a bit more internet research, and see it typically comes out of France. Perhaps to improve sturdiness.

    Thanks! I had used double caning. Maybe hyphenated, but have forgotten now.
