Hi everyone! I found these 2 paintings at my local thrift store yesterday - one is signed Engstrom '67 & the other isn't signed on the painting but there is a note on the back that may be by the artist, but I can't make out the name to check.

The Engstrom is either by Magnus or Martin Engstrom - are they the same person? (I ask because the signatures are similiter; including both are printed, not script). Could they be the same person? Whose is mine painted by?

The 2nd one I thought was a Peter Max when I first saw it, but once I picked it up & looked it over I saw that it didn't have a visible signature, although there is a note on the back of it in Spanish(?).
Is the signature of the note the artist? Can anyone tell who the artist of this painting is?

I appreciate any & all help!

I hope this serves as a remembrance of Venier and Venice........

Venier appears to be a gift shop in Venice.

From the 1975 The Artist's Guide to His Market: "In the low-priced market, there are "picture" dealers who buy outright for quick, inexpensive turnover. Perhaps the largest and most widespread is Arts International, Ltd. ..." So decorative art, in other words.

Your post above came up at same time I was typing! At least the Engstrom is a winner (paid $75 for both)
    Thanks again!

I'd read the inscription as Dulce spending a lot of money at Venier and Raul throwing in a painting as a thank you. Perhaps her tour guide who'd get a commission from the store.

Both have such great modernist feel. They will do will if you re-sell.
