Saw this in a shop yesterday but did not buy, as I did not know who made it. Looks to be a factory lamp base. there is the side drill shown and a hole up in the recessed bottom center. There were some loose lamp parts inside as well. Thought it might be Fulper but I can not confirm this shape with them. Any ideas? Only pics I have. About 16" tall, I would guess.

Absolutely! Thanks! Might have to go back and buy, as it was pretty cheap.

Too bad somebody drilled it, but if it hadn't been a lamp it might have become landfill.

Pretty sure it is a factory drilled piece. Fulper made a lot of lamps that were identical to their vases.

Factory drilled is much better. Going to go nab it and turn it back into a lamp?

VB-It's a beauty.Did you notice if it has the 'FULPER' stamp on the base ? I assume you would've bought it on the spot if it did (but, who knows),at any rate-it's a dupe.

No mark but I knew it had the look of Fulper. I hesitated since most Fulper is marked. I will try and go back and get it. They are closed tomorrow but I suspect it will be there later. We don't see a lot of Fulper here and doubt many locals would recognize it.

I did go back and buy it. It is 11" tall, so my estimate on size was way off. On close examination, I am not sure that the lamp drilling is original. Funny how first impressions can be so wrong. I really did not think much about it other than it possibly being Fulper when I photographed it. Condition is perfect other than the drilling so I think I am fine at $16.00  It has lamp parts and plaster of paris chunks inside. They do not come out easily but I can insert a new lamp stem without taking them out if I need to. I will convert it back to a lamp but need to think about what type of shade to go with it. Any ideas?

I always have opinions re shades! Here's what not to do IMHO. (Another Fulper lamp.) Too high, too wide.

Compare with this. Perhaps not to everyone's taste (nor the definitive choice) but a much more cohesive presentation.

To be avoided as a distraction.

Seeing a lot of Fulper lamps with wicker shades so maybe an original option. Found this one cheap on-line so may just buy it and give it a try. Not totally sure about the overall shape. Maybe a bit too angular? 12" tall x 15" diameter.

shade looks old and dirty and that design will detract from the soft color of the vase...;)..:p:p

Wicker would work, but not painted :yuck::yuck::yuck::yuck:-colored green. Natural for sure.

Well of course Brad will clean it up and repaint or restore to original, etc. Sometimes ya gotta use your imagination! I'd go with wicker, too.
