Hello @Vindobona1 & welcome to the forum!!:happy:

Those 2 patterns are Theodore Haviland & the OP's pieces are Charles Field Haviland.

I tried looking on Replacements & in my Haviland book but didn't have any luck & I need to get going.

I think the key to finding this pattern is the leaves remind me of holly leaves, the plates will likely have the same flower in the center as the platter (not all patterns have a center flower) & the embossed pattern around the edge of the platter.

You could try taking a photo of the platter straight on & the covered dish from the side. Then use the photo search option on Replacements. It is very simple to us & I have had pretty good luck using it myself.

If you have any dinner plates you can try a straight-on photo of that also.

Having the pieces right there will make the search a little easier as I had to keep clicking back to your photos. ;)

Also don't feel defeated trying to ID a Haviland pattern, especially ones with pink flowers, has driven many a person a little too close to the edge of madness. ;):hilarious:

I think the Haviland mark in this case is a red herring. That may be the retailer rather than the porcelain company. GDA was a French porcelian maker.

    According to some internet searching...
GDM (Gerard, Dufraiuseix and Morel) purchased Charles Field Haviland's company name upon his retirement in the 1881. They had a change of partners in 1890 with Abbot stepping into Morel's place and the company then became GDA. In 1941, GDA sold the CF Haviland mark to another company.
However, in contrast to the 1890 date of change from GDM to GDA stated above, the Haviland Collectors website dates your particular GDA mark as 1900+. They have very little info about CF Haviland on their "History" page (and seem much more focused on David Haviland's more prolific/popular company overall):

Charles Field Haviland, the nephew of David Haviland, married into another porcelain family in 1859. When he retired in 1881 the name was “bought”, and has been passed down through several firms until the present day.

Sorry, none of this helps with your search for a pattern name! I just thought I'd add some reference material to this thread.

Now you might understand why some folks have been driven to madness trying to ID Haviland patterns. ;):hilarious::hilarious:

A group of plates may all look the same but there is a subtle difference in the flowers. Maybe the leaves are a different shape or they added a tiny blue flower to one of the groups of pink & white flowers. Then there is the fact that the same pattern was used on different shape plates.:rolleyes:

There is a 5 volume set of small booklets that were written by a mother & son team to put an ID to obscure Haviland patterns. The son drew the patterns & each pattern was assigned a number. That is how the "Schleiger numbers" came about as they were named for the mother & son.

The Haviland book is also shown on this Google page.

    https://www.google.com/search?sca_e...oFHeOKC18Q0pQJegQICBAB&biw=1920&bih=931&dpr=1

Then there is the reference book put out by Replacements Ltd. which is 1 1/2" thick & has 577 pages.:rolleyes:

You may also try contacting Replacements Ltd. They at one time would help you ID patterns.

Good luck & if you ever do find an answer please do let us know.:happy:
