    Hi everyone,

I came upon an old framed art print that had been ripped and instantly knew by the font that whatever was peeking out underneath was old and cool. I wasn't wrong!

This is a Laflin & Rand display sign. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me around what year it is from? The sign in a thick board, not tin or a reproduction. It had been used as a backing for an art print that had the date around 1910 on it. The nails used also indicated it's at least from the early 1900s, if not the 1800s.

Any insight on it's age? Or how much something like this might be worth? It measures around 1.5 ft by 2 feet. Thank you!

** The text in the lower corner reads "Geo. A. Wolf, Wilmington, DE"

Well, according to the internet, Laflin & Rand Powder Company supplied the U.S. Military with smokeless powder from 1896 to 1908 so that would be your window.

As to value, not sure who the market would be, especially as it's missing its most collectible elements -- the cartridges. eBay is a good place to ascertain where collector interest lies. Start with Completed listings and then Current. You're unlikely to find a duplicate on eBay but it will provide directional information.

Another source that you might check out is Oldguns, they have all sorts of antique firearm related items on their site. This may be a of interest......
