Better to take it to someone who knows. You could erase a lithograph as easily as a drawing.

 

If that's an original,be very careful w/ an eraser.If it is an original-it's exquisite,similar to an Ingres (but he goes for stupid $$$).

 

Ooooh I wouldn't erase. Agreed with moreotherstuff that isn't exactly a guarantee.

I'm really curious about that Christie's one. This piece looks different and I have to say better than his other work. Which says to me it's a very good print draftsman.

 

The resolution on the Christies image is inferior to GE Gal's-better color & sharpness .I'd highly recommend taking it to an expert,too fine a piece to fool with.

Hi Debra , I did not . I have a storage area under my stairs that I have MANY old frames that I plan on refurbishing before I die Lol!!

It's possible, but given that it's associated with the framing instructions, it's more likely the name of the framer's client.

 

That would be my assumption. Moeglich does appear to be a German surname.
