    I snagged this up thinking it was probably a piece of whitefiars - then what I got it home I found this signature - I have zero ideas what it says... it measures 6" tall x 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 - somm.jpg somm2.jpg somm3.jpg somm4.jpg

It reminds me of Scandinavian art glass like Kosta Boda.

For future reference, Whitefriars never made this lime green or that side cased effect.

It’s not kosta, although I see what you mean. That’s a glass artist and an American looking script.

Kind of a Hail Mary/long shot, but you could try an image search if you photograph it straight on, plain white background. Signature is really hard to read.

It looks like a really nice piece of studio glass.

I'm guessing that someone knew what it was because the 3 vases sold 4 over $600 when you add tax in - and I know the last 2 vases are worth less than $100 combined... I am not convinced it's murano - I could be wrong - but someone knows or has more dollars then sense...

All I can toss in is that Italian doesn't really use the letter J, so even if Italian glass, name that goes with signature probably more like John or Jean, not Giovanni. I see first initial of last name as D.

Arg. EVERYTHING is Murano. That seller wins clueless for that description, too. The other ones are Mandruzzato and generic Murano, but this isn't.

I'm seeing John and a last name that might start R.

Try Jesse Reece glass artist of East Marion, New York... Long island's North Fork.
I can't be sure this seller is right about the maker, but the initials look almost identical to what is on your vase, especially the flourish on the R.

    Same vase on Etsy:

This website has sold quite a few Jessie Reece pieces of art glass. Seller never posted any close-ups of the signature, but if you enlarge the pictures full size you can barely see the JR mark of the first two listings.

    Short bio of Jesse Reece:

If you search Jesse Reece art glass, there are several high-end auction houses that sold some of his work that was signed Jesse Reece for Tiffany's New York. Liz Taylor owned three vases of his from Tiffany line.

A vase archived on worthpoint with a halfway discernible picture of the mark:

There are more on worthpoint but this was the first one I found with a good picture. Make sure you spell ReeCe with a c when you search.

Well, I have 17 windows open on my phone and the cat is pestering me relentlessly to pay attention to him NOW! so I'm going to post this now!
