Village Scene in Bright Colors

Not sure where this is from.

It is signed, "Irene."

It's 12.5" by 12.5"

I notice the bus says "Tota Express". There is a village of Tota in Liberia, and the style of buildings look like traditional homes in Liberia.

I know nothing about this one however I have a similar one from Mexico, on wood and vibrant village life. The one I have is about 10 years old.

The artist may be Irene Karuva of Zimbabwe. She signs her works Irene, and I found an ebay listing for one of her items that has a similar handwritten paragraph on a separate piece of paper on the back:

The bus in the original posted painting has "Mukute" in one of the windows. I found that there is a Mukute art gallery in Zimbabwe that also gives classes, and there is a catalog of works online that includes one by Irene Karuva. It will open as a pdf (yes, I know some won't want to click). If anybody is interested, her work and some info about her is on image 55 of 164.
