I’m getting ready to resell this dresser cherry wood marble top dresser with mirror. It also has a side table. I’m wondering if it’s an antique or just a look alike. Any insight would be very helpful!

It is, indeed, antique. Think circa 1880. Pulls are a bit later, by 20 years or so. I don't see cherry. Looks more like walnut to me.

Would place it about 1885-95, Eastlake with a lingering look at Renaissance Revival. Walnut with walnut burl panels on the drawers. I would imagine that the drawer pulls are original, but best to check out the backs of the front drawer panels to be sure. Nice piece, but sadly not worth a lot in today’s depressed brown furniture market.

Thank you Deborah! I appreciate everyone’s feedback! I am getting ready to clean it up right now and post better pictures. And I didn’t realize it was walnut. I guess I like walnut furniture as well. What would you say it would be worth in todays market?

    well now.....
I wouldn't let the end , or hall table go for any less than $100....& try for $275 on the dresser....( I'll bet the marble slab alone is with more..)
it's brown...yah...but not that big...and the marble is nice ..

don't try selling it to any cat....as they seem uninterested.....:playful::hilarious:

& remember the rule for taking photo's directly into a mirror........... Don't !:eek:

ps...the off the cuff price suggestions are based on u living in or near a populated area ........ that has some taste...and a decent housing market !!!

if u live up the side of a mountain.....or in a trailer park......burn the wood and sell the marble itself !!!!!:woot::woot::woot:

The two pieces don't match. The stand is mahogany.

Glad you could make a sale, but the piece seems so attractive and the craftsmanship would seem to make with worth so much more.
