Looks like a type of "swirl" marble.

Is the metal part connected to the glass? Is it a pendant?

You mentioned maybe posting in "Antiques". Is there some information leading you to think this is an antique? Curious what you know about it.

I would have thought modern art glass. Also, how big is it?

I haven’t looked for marks but it’s silver and likely sterling. It’s what I think they call a 1/2” marble. Was wondering if the corkscrew on the inside was called anything in particular. I was thinking posting outside of jewelry to identify the marble not because I thought it was an antique marble. It’s just such a curious piece I watch nature shows and there is a shark that lays their young in things that look like the center Nothing to do with this but it reminds me of that. Lol.

The setting is modern, not antique. Gorgeous, though.

If you want to know about the glass specifically, you could ask the Mods to move this thread to Pottery, Glass etc. That forum also deals with antique glass, although I also think this is modern.

Some art glass marbles are signed so worth a close inspection with a loupe. If you draw a blank there is a fanatical marble group on Facebook that might recognise the maker.

my guess is the silver part is sold in jewelry findings which allows you to wear your Marbles and interchange them. Not snide comments!
